The 2010 municipal election is today. Students, over the age of 18 and citizens are allowed to vote in this election. If you live on campus the SLC is your polling place, otherwise visit the city's website to find your ward's polling station. Bring ID to vote. The municipal government controls many aspects of day-to-day student life: busses and transit, bylaw enforcement, zoning, and taxes. Voting is paricularly important as a student, in many of the races there are candidates who view students as either children or second class citizens; a problem to be dealt with and not residents proper.
Information on the candidates may be found in our debate coverage, in Imprint, and in the Record as well as candidates' websites, links to all of the above are available on our website.
